چکیده

Abstract Funding Acknowledgements Type of funding sources: None. Aims Cardiac tamponade (CT) is the most common life-threatening complication interventional electrophysiology. Urgent drainage by percutaneous pericardiocentesis and anticoagulation reversal are required. Immediate direct protamine administration to pericardial space patient has not been described. This study was designed assess efficacy safety immediate intrapericardial (IPPA) in CT as a electrophysiologic procedure. Methods A retrospective case series IPPA performed for collected. were achieve hemodynamic stabilization without emergent surgery. Results Eleven cases included two tertiary heart centres. Electrophysiological procedures ventricular tachycardia (n =3), atrial fibrillation = 3), left accessory pathway 1), premature contraction =4) with transseptal 10) and/or retroaortic routes =3). Pericardial all 11 patients. Surgical haemostasis required our cohort. The mean volume drained fluid 486ml (200-1200) Mean dosage 209mg (100-800). systemic 86mg(50-100). No observed on follow-up. Conclusion feasible, safe, useful technique salvage therapy CT. ACT

Resistant pericardial tamponade.

An 87-year-old woman with critical aortic stenosis and preserved left ventricular (LV) systolic function (ejection fraction 50%) was admitted with pulmonary edema. She stabilized with medical therapy, and a decision was made to perform balloon aortic valvuloplasty as a bridge to potential transcatheter aortic valve implantation. Initially, a temporary pacemaker was inserted from the right femor...

The case of a 59 year male with acute tuberculous pericardial abscess who presented with cough, dyspnoea, haemoptysis, signs of Tamponade and a large Pleural Effusion is reported. Performing Pericardiocentesis did not improve his symptoms hence he was subjected to surgery. Acute tuberculous pericardial abscess was the diagnosis made after histopathology which was successfully managed with stern...

Purulent Pericardial Effusions with Pericardial Tamponade – Diagnosis and Treatment Issues

Purulent pericarditis is rarely encountered in the antibiotherapy era, mainly in immunosupressed patients, after cardiac operations, in septicemia. Diagnosis of purulent pericarditis is based upon the analysis of pericardial drainage, obtained through pericardiocentesis or preferably, through a surgical approach. The reported case has following peculiarities: clinical signs of false acute surgi...

Pericardial Tamponade in an Adult Suffering from Acute Mumps Infection

Here, we report a case of a 51-year-old man with acute pericardial tamponade requiring emergency pericardiocentesis after he suffered from sore throat, headache, malaise, and sweats for two weeks. Serological analyses revealed increased mumps IgM and IgG indicating an acute mumps infection whereas other bacterial and viral infections were excluded. In addition, MRI revealed atypical swelling of...

Acute cardiac tamponade caused by massive hemorrhage from pericardial cyst.

A12-year-old girl with no significant previous cardiac history was transferred to our university hospital because of 1 week of high fever and dyspnea. On physical examination, the heart sounds were muffled, the heart rate was 110 bpm, the respiratory rate was 32 breaths per minute with dyspnea, and the blood pressure was 110/75 mm Hg. A chest radiograph revealed marked cardiac enlargement (Figu...
